The Hagonoy Lighthouse in Bulacan has been restored and reinstalled by the Philippine Coast Guard to guide fisherfolk and mariners navigating the waters at night.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) announced on Sunday the completion of its work on the lighthouse at the mouth of the Hagonoy River.
PCG Commandant George Ursabia declared the restored status and the resumption of normal operations of the Hagonoy Lighthouse in an activity held on September 5, 2020.
Lighthouses, which are considered as an effective navigational aide, are vital to fishermen and mariners in the area, as it guides and helps them to safely navigate their voyage, especially at night.
In March, the roads to Malabrigo Beach and Lighthouse in Lobo, Batangas were widened for more convenient travel.
Bulacan’s reopened Sitio Brown Bridge also gave improved access for students and farmers.
